This set of six frames presents a collection of antique seal imprints. Seals were used to close letters at a time when few people knew how to read, and the particular image they display enabled the recipient to identify the sender. They served as a form of signature and constituted proof of the document’s authenticity. They are printed on handmade paper, ‘Velin d’Arches’.
